Backyard Family Wedding

Brian’s Purposal story to Amber
We were sitting in the sand and he said, “I saw a cool stick over there, I’m going to go look at it”. I said, “Ooookay…?”. He went around the bend and put the ring in his pocket. When he came back he had this big stick and started drawing in the sand. After he had drawn a half circle he asked what I thought it was. I didn’t know, so he continued with his drawing making a full circle in the sand. He asked me what I thought it was, and I told him I thought it was a mote. Then he put a plant on the top and asked what I thought I was. I told him, “Uhhh…a mote with a tree growing in it?” He was trying to draw a diamond ring—I obviously wasn’t tracking. Then he drew a “34” in the center (the date) and, because I obviously had no clue what was going on, he changed course and told me he had drawn his birthday cake in the sand. I played right into it! I said, “Oh, well if it’s your birthday cake, you better blow out the candles and make a wish!” So we pretended to light the ‘candles’ and he said, “You have to make a wish too.” He made me close my eyes and at this point I knew what was coming. I was so excited! We both made a wish and when I opened my eyes he was on his knee and proposed. I said yes 🙂
